Majesty in Las Vegas

Behind the Scenes at the COUTURE Show Design Awards 2022

Las Vegas is a city that knows how to celebrate brilliance. Light, movement, voices from all over the world, and at the center of it all, the quiet and concentrated world of high jewelry.

In 2022, Marilisi had the honor of becoming a nominee at one of the most influential international exhibitions in fine jewelry, the COUTURE Show Design Awards in Las Vegas. Our gold bracelet MAJESTY was selected as a nominee, and with it, a piece of my personal history, my craft, and my lifelong devotion to jewelry art traveled across the ocean.

MAJESTY is a bracelet in which unique gold embroidery and miniature sculptural forms are interwoven with precisely cut gemstones. Diamonds, rubellites, topaz, and leather come together in a composition that speaks of perseverance, power, and quiet triumph. Every thread of gold is formed by hand. Every detail carries intention.

Arriving in Las Vegas, I felt that familiar mixture of excitement and calm that always comes when a piece finally leaves the studio and meets the world.

The exhibition hall was filled with the most respected names in contemporary high jewelry. Designers, collectors, curators, critics, and editors moved slowly from stand to stand, examining, touching, asking questions. And very soon, something beautiful began to happen.

People stopped.

They leaned closer.

They asked, again and again, how the lace was made.

The golden embroidery drew attention from the very first hours. Critics and specialists approached with curiosity, then with visible admiration. Many of them had never seen gold worked in this way before. They touched the threads gently, examined the structure, studied the miniature forged forms hidden inside the lace.

“What technique is this?”
“How is it possible that metal becomes so soft?”
“Who taught you this?”

These were the questions I heard all day.

Some of the most respected critics in the industry spent long minutes with MAJESTY. They praised not only the design, but the craftsmanship itself, the patience, the discipline, the courage to work with techniques that almost no one uses anymore.

For me, this was the greatest reward.

Awards are important. Recognition matters. But nothing compares to the moment when masters of your own profession look at your work and understand what you have tried to say through metal and stone.

Las Vegas became for me not just a city of lights, but a place where years of silent work were heard. And Vegas proved that Marilisi, born from tradition, patience, and love for craftsmanship, truly belongs on the world stage.

With love & gratitude,
